BioChem: Week 4

I was really interested to hear about how the Moon has areas whose temperatures are colder than Pluto. This really brought into focus for me the power of the Sun and that proximity doesn’t actually mean warmth. It’s like proximity to a person doesn’t actually mean you receive their affections. What was also curious to me was the comment Larry made about the content on the Moon actually being quite dull even though it appears bright and reflective. This speaks deeply to the concept that everything is relative, like our medicine teaches.

It’s hard to say that the target proposed by Gavin Newsom is realistic considering promises have been made in the past to cut greenhouse emissions from gasoline. Ultimately, fifteen years is a long time. Will he even still be in office? Can he even make such a claim? These questions don’t even address the fact that the auto industry is more powerful than the Governor. Nevertheless, his target seems a lofty goal but one that I am excited to see he is making.
