hello!
thank you for being here.
With gratitude and awe, I give thanks to my ancestral and spiritual lineages. I am descended from Hungarian Ashkenazi Jews, Portuguese, Dutch and other folks. I do not hold a connection by blood to Chinese medicine but feel a responsibility to honor, learn and deepen my understanding. This responsibility fosters a connection to the principles and people who have lived and shared this medicine.
I am originally from Massachusetts and moved to Oakland in 2013 seeking a place where the practice of traditional medicine was part of the culture; I am grateful to those who made it so. I began studying bodywork in 2014 in the Chinese medicine tradition. I have a Masters of Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland and years of mentorship and independent study in bodywork, qigong, herbal medicine, and acupuncture.
My practice is dynamic; I came to this medicine asking questions about how to be well in this world, which landed me amongst the 5 Spirits in Chinese medicine. I enjoy working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and the full range of the human experience, in all its complexity. I also enjoy practicing orthopedic techniques that focus on increasing mobility, sensation, relieving physical pain and injury repair.
I acknowledge some of my teachers here for the ways they've shaped me as a practitioner and student: Brian O'Dea, Kathleen Davis, Jason Frye, Liping Zhu, and Robert Levine. & to Stephen Jenkinson - who does not know me by name but whose work on death, grief, dying, and mystery has been incredibly influential in the way I show up.
